About

I'm Christy, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Clinical Supervisor in Virginia. I've worked in mental health for over 16 years and have been supervising residents since 2020. I practice from an attachment-based, humanistic foundation, with psychodynamic, trauma-informed, IFS, and DBT influences.

I think the supervisory relationship matters as much as any technique we cover. Much of the growth in residency comes from working through the challenging moments together. Being part of that process, and seeing residents come out the other side more confident, is what I value most about this work.

Supervision Services

I offer virtual individual and dyad supervision for Residents in Counseling in Virginia.

Supervision with me is a place to be honest about your work. Bring the session that went sideways, the client you can't figure out, or the question you're embarrassed to ask. I'd much rather talk through those than hear only about what went well.

We'll cover the clinical side, including case conceptualization, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk, and documentation. We'll also talk about ethics, boundaries, how your own history shows up in sessions, and the practical side of preparing for independent licensure.

I don't expect you to practice the way I do. My job is to help you think clearly about your cases, trust your judgment, and figure out what kind of therapist you are.
