Hello My name is Monica Whitlock and I am a licensed clincial supervisor in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. I have 13 years of experience working with teens and adults in the community mental health sector. Adults with Serious Mental Illness, Co-occurring Disorders, Depressive/Bipolar/Anxiety Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Substance Abuse; also Parenting Skills and Parenting of children with ADHD and ODD, children ages 6 and up with serious mental illness and behavioral issues.

My supervisory style is open and supportive and ranges from educational to collaborative depending on the resident’s level of expertise. I tend to be very interactive and experiential (i.e. reviewing therapeutic interactions, role plays of therapeutic situations). People have described me as energetic, engaged, compassionate, direct, and with a good sense of humor. I strongly believe that supervision is an important learning experience but that it can be exciting and fun as well!
